Debt Update – January 2017

We have paid off $36,622.18 in debt to-date!

We have $42,330.13 left to pay.  Our debt snowball spreadsheet shows April 2019 as our pay off date right now.  That can change though, because there are always factors that can cause that to change.

For example, I felt like the entire 2nd half of 2016 we were repairing our vehicles and paying for vet bills.  It just seemed never ending.  So, we were constantly having to replenish our emergency fund and it would slow us down on the debt payment.

I am not sure if I have shared this or not, since I know I have been MIA on both the website and my videos for the last few months, but we are currently funding a move fund.

So, we have hit pause on the debt until probably mid March.  We are in an area that just doesn’t seem to be as safe as it was when we bought our home 12 years ago unfortunately.  And, there have been a few things happen a little to close to home for comfort during this past year.  So, we feel it is time to move on.

We are planning on renting and saving up for a down-payment on a new home at a later date once we get to that baby step.

Well, I think that is about all I can think of related to where we are this month.

Thanks for taking the time to read!  Talk to y’all later.  🙂

Wow, I haven’t be on here in a while…

It has been forever since I wrote a blog post on here.  I just wanted to let y’all know that we are still truckin’ along with paying off our debt, though!  It is Sunday today, and it has been a fairly lazy day.  I did get several things accomplished today, though.

  1. I made homemade Sweet and Sour Chicken and Fried Rice for supper with recipes that I found on Pinterest.  (It was so good, just like takeout!)

  2. I swept all of the hardwood floors and vacuumed all of the carpet.

  3. I went over all of our tax paperwork to see what items we were still missing, so I can make a plan on when we will be ready to file.

  4. I went through all of all credit reports from all 3 creditors just to make sure everything looked OK. (I like to do this every 6 months.)

Yeah, I would say that was a pretty productive day, even though I did get to spend quite a bit of it laying around on the couch.  LOL

We don’t have too much on the calendar this coming up week.  The kids do have their eye check-up this coming up Saturday, and my daughter has gymnastics tomorrow night, but that is all I can think of right now.

I hope you all are doing well.  Please let me know what is going on in your life!  🙂
