Graham Cracker Goodies

This is my Granny Ruth’s recipe.  My Granny Ruth is my husband’s grandmother.  (His daddy’s mother.)

This is a recipe that she shared with me years ago when we first started dating.  And, it is one that I will never forget.  It is a very old-fashioned, southern recipe.  And, it definitely does not watch the calories.  LOL

Since it is an older recipe it happens to call for oleo, which is just a type of margarine they used years ago.  So, you can either use margarine or double-up on the butter.  Your choice.  🙂

But, they are definitely delicious and remind me of the holidays.  So, I hope you enjoy!  😀

Graham Cracker Goodies

Graham crackers (enough to line a cookie sheet)

1 cup chopped nuts (we use pecans)

1/2 cup sugar

1 stick real butter

1 stick oleo

Line your cookie sheet with the graham crackers.  Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the graham crackers.  Mix together your sugar, butter, and oleo in saucepan, and bring to a boil.  Boil for 4 minutes.  Pour this mixture over your graham crackers.  Bake for 12 minutes at 275 degrees.  Let them cool completely, and then break them into pieces.  Yum!  😀
