I found a great board game that teaches kids about money! It is called the Learning Resources Money Bags Board Game. I know that normally games that are educational can sometimes not be as much fun as regular board games, but this one is different.
It is really fun!
This games teaches kids how to count money. And, it always turns out to be a different way to play. Since the groupings of money are always different, there is no way that they can win the same way as the did the time before.
I mean some cashiers cannot count back money, but this game will teach a child how! It really shows them all of the fundamentals. I think it is a great game, and would even be good used in a classroom setting.
It is for 2-4 players. It comes with a game board with spinner, 100 plastic coins, play bills, markers and die. You basically count, collect, and exchange money throughout the game, and the person with the most money at the end wins!
Since it is better to pay cash for purchases in order to spend less and have better control over your money. These are fundamentals that you will want to teach your children early on. And, what better way to do it than with a fun game? 😀 It would make a great Christmas gift.
